Hello,
I was trying to implement those meshes that make the lights look better in my mods, but I can't figure it out how it works. I have read in the support forum that the mesh used for that should not have a texture. Instead of that it's made with "Paint Tool color Vertex" in Maya. Is that true? In that case, which colors are used for that?
cheers!

Hi,

yes that's correct.

Well, the colours are obvious I would say ;)
Red for brake lights, whit efor reverse lights and yellow/orange for turn lights.

Finally, you can also set the color of some vertices to black (most likely for the vertcies on the outer edges of the mesh) which will make them appear invisible in the game.

Last step is to set the user attributes in order to apply the vehicle shader with the correct variation to the mesh. This can be done in Maya too ;)

Cheers,
Emil

Thanks a lot for your help. It works.

About the colors I wasn't sure if it had to be red, orange, etc. or if it would work with the colors of the coronas (since I didn't know how it works actually).

BTW, I have seen that in Maya is possible to "adjust" the level of alpha of the vertex color, from 0 to 1. Have the default vehicles some grade of it?

Cheers!

Hi,

nope the default vehicles have no variation in alpha.

The transparency in the game is adjusted by the color.
The more it's close to black the more transparent it will appear.

Cheers,
Emil
