When I start the editor, the screen turns gray. When I want to open any I3D model, everything is just gray. Why??

H. Tawil (Unknown) 23.11.2014 12:47
It look like sometime the GE camera is looking at the other side of the universe :)
To solve this just select any object and press F, it will bring the camera to it.

Ludvig Danielsson (Unknown) 23.11.2014 19:07
no it is not the fault, so it looks like this

Hi,

please try to open the GIANTS Editor first and the i3d file afterwards.
If this resolves your problem please leave a reply.

Also test if the 32bit veriosn of the ditor works better for you.

Finally, just to get sure check if the path to the i3d file or any of the paths to texture files contain a special character (like ß,ü,ö,ä,ê,...)

Cheers,
Emil

Hi

I'm still having a similar problem. It worked with either 32 or 64bit of version 5 (through several updates) - even oh the highest quality settings, but Versions 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and 6.0.3 all continue to present the same Grey Screen. The software appears to function normally in other ways, so I' confident that the issue relates to Open GL (Assuming that FS2015 uses the Hardware renderer!)

I have cleared the shader caches and tried both 32 and 64 bit versions, updated graphics drivers (and consulted with Intel Tech Support) before updating to latest Open GL.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

My script log is similar to Whalter (see below)

I am also having this issue with my giant editor

Emil Drefers (Unknown) 27.02.2015 10:56
Hi,

first of all I have to say that the GIANTS Editor is very likely to not work with onboard graphics cards.
But the game itself does.

So, @John and @Whalter: you have an onboard gpu which means your PC (rather a laptop?) is not capable of running the GIANTS Editor.

I'm sorry for that, but I can't change anything about that currently.

Note: If you have a dedicated GPU in your PC/laptop too, you might try to force the driver to use the dedictaed GPU when GE is to be started.

Cheers,
Emil

thank you @emily
