Hi, I am wondering how to create a new mod from scratch. I also want to know how to create new map from scratch too.

Use the sample mod for a template, that's what it's for. As to a map from scratch, well I've asked for that time and again, but the only answer I get I to clone one of the default maps, delete all static objects, trees, and foliage. Erase all terrain textures but one base layer like dirt, or grass, and the flatten it all out; or flatten it out as much as you want.

Now you can export and terrain, and all files, and then open the export with the editor, and your looking at basically a textures terrain. I'm used to creating a heightmap in another program (I've even done it with Photoshop and exported as a 2 bit raw), and importing the heightmap back into my favorite game editor. GE is different in the fact it seems to be more of an xml interpreter for the engine than a normal editor, but ut works I guess. As to the map thing, there are 3 good blank sample maps for download on mohhub. One is a normal 2048, one is 4096, and one claims to be a 16x? I dunno about that one, but the 4x interest me for a more advanced train system. Good Luck, and Happy modding!

How do I make the different shapes for a mod and textures and things. Sorry, I'm just not good at this, lol!
