I am hoping the forum community can give me some ideas on what to try.

I have a fs15 mod map that I have been using all year, there are just a few things that I need to change on the map. As I have done many times I copy the map out of my Mods Folder, and paste a copy both in my originals folder and in a separate folder for editing on my desktop. I extract all of the files in the zip folder, open my map in giants editor. I then rezip the files, rename the zip folder the same as the folder I removed originally and put it back in the mods folder. When I restart the game it locks up right at the beginning.

I am able to restore from my original map and everything is fine, but I do need to make a few changes before going on in the game.

I have tried everything, including simply copying the game into the desktop folder, extracting, then simply saving in GE without making any changes. When I zip and put it back in the game it still crashes.

I thought maybe my GE had become corrupted somehow so I deleted it and reloaded. I am using 6.0.5.

Can anyone give me an idea to try? I have edited this map many many times, so I am somewhat familiar with the process. Am I missing something??

Thanks,

I've been reading the forums today while at work. I saw something about a log for Giants Editor. I'll try to find that when I get home. If I can't find the problem I'll post the log here.

Thank you,

You don't have to have your map zipped by the way, only if your going to redistribute, or use it for multiplayer. Try running it in the editor, or game unzipped, and remember to remove the zip folder from your mods folder. You can't have the zipped and unzipped co[pies in the mods folder at the same time.

I didn't know that.
Don't ever plan to do multiplayer.

Thanks James
