Have a problem with hired help. the hired help will harvest a field but will not
cultivate the field that it just harvested, thanks for any help to point me in right
direction for a fix.

Im many mod maps there are collisions too near to the field boundaries (eg. trees), so the helper stops working.
Start cultivating manually. Should be sufficient, to work over the first outer lanes. That will also improve the helpers' turn around.

wide open field, no collisions anywhere near field, only two trees near field and they are on other side of field near road, field is flat. field boundries
have been set by editor, no collision mask painted anywhere on map, map does have chopped straw installed, that was the reason for the cultivate, to work the straw into ground.

You didn't mention CS "chopped straw" in 1st post.
So if the field is built properly, no collisions nearby, it's probably an issue with CS.
Most maps I know, are _prepared_ for CS, but you'll need the CS mod, perhaps additional XML entries in i3d or elsewhere. Read the CS docs.
Besides you should have only _one_ mod map in your mod folder, especially if the map contains additional LUA scripts.

Something else going on here, I made another mod map from original goldcrest map,
only put the bare needs to make 1 field, planted it with wheat, imported storePlace trigger,
bought only harvester with front part to harvest wheat, one tractor and a cultivator,
stripped mod folder of all mods, unchecked plat. add-on. Started game with only the one mod map,
which has nothing added to modesc file, no chopped straw, or scripts of any kind, hired help harvested all the wheat from field but
when i took tractor with cultivator to field and hit hire help button, only get helper has completed task
and doesn't do any thing.I can go to original maps in game and they work perfect.

Another idea: is force plough enabled? Then try without.

force plough enabled?? haven't seen that, what and where is it?

In the game settings. Where you also adjust plant growth, withering, fertilizer states. The point is called "periodic plowing required".
