v8.2.2 will not open

I cannot open v8.2.2 after downloading it. It shows up in my taskbar but will not come up on my screen. I uninstalled v8.2.0. I also verified that my video drivers are up to date. Can I get a download link to v8.2.0 so I can work on my maps again? It has it's own problems but at least it will open up.

Problems might occur with certain desktop resolutions/settings.
Navigate to the GE user folder %LOCALAPPDATA% -> Giants Editor .. and delete the file "editor.xml". It will be new created at next GE start.
Also delete all content of the folder "shader_cache".
Look also into the "editor_log.txt" for possible error messages.

If that doesn't help create a shortcut for the GE where you setup in properties tab "Shortcut" Run: Maximized
Start the GE with this shortcut.

@Bilbo Beutlin. Deleting the .xml and the shader chace folder did the trick. It now shows up. Thanks for the quick response and all the help!

Hello Guys i need help. I installed the v8.2.2 and I also can open it but it says starting and then it closes itself again. Can you help me with this problem? Thank you!

See above - look into editor log.
Perhaps your OpenGL version is not sufficient.

hello y cant see editor log in my GE map and if i start GE up it closes itself again editor.xml and shader_catch y have already deleted.

If there is no "editor_log.txt", the GE doesn't even start (completely). Then there's something wrong with your system.

Hi guys today i have updated giants editor to 8.2.2.
It does not load maps and closes in error.
I tried to put back the old version 8.2.0 but now that doesn't work anymore either.

I tried all the solutions found on the forum but nothing.

What happens with mine it opens up for me but when trying to edit a map all the textures go from regular to all white same thing when trying to add some logos onto a mod and the rest of the house or anything all goes white with the new 8.2.2 editor

Hi.
I have also problems with editor now. I have been using editor v8.2.2. It was working fine. The suddenly one day it dident want to start any more. It only comes up on the taskbar but dosent get it up on the screen.
Now i tried to delete the "editor.xml" file. but then it wont start at all as others have had problems with as well. It starts and closes itself again.
The editor log file i cant see either.

I re-installed Editor and changed the screen resolution in the "editor xml" file to the same as i am using. now it starts up and shows on my screen, but it shuts down before it is finished starting up.

When i found the right folder with the "shader_cache" and "editor.xml" and deleted it in that folder it fixed the problem.

Disconnect/disable network, then try again.
Make sure editor and game relevant files are on local drives. Disable cloud storage like OneDrive.

Also look into common online computer magazines. Recent Windows updates caused trouble on some systems.

Привет, у меня проблема установил GE v 8.2.2 он начинает запускаться, какое-то вемя загружается, и не открывшись вылетает, удалил файл "editor.txt" проблема не ешена, пробовал установить более старые версии редактора, такая же беда.

GLSL is the OpenGL shader language.
It's just what the error message says: your GPU does support OpenGL only upto vs. 4.4, the GE 8 requires at least vs. 4.5
You need a better gfx card.

mines having same issues will open in task bar but not full screen and it was working 24hrs earlier

A Windows update might have changed something important.
Often it helps if you delete in folder "%LOCALAPPDATA%\GIANTS Editor ..." the file "editor.xml" and the content of "shader_cache".
Also make sure, editor (and game) relevant files are on local drives. Don't use OneDrive or similar cloud storage for these files.
