3dmax pivot point problem

Please, won't someone explain what's goin' on with pivot point of an object during an export?

I align pivot point in 3d max exactly to the place where it needs to be, then I align an object according
coordinate system to point 0,0,0, then I make an export with Giant's plugin.
So when I open my object in GE it's pivot may take absolutely different place (and sometimes angles of axis' direction) than that
it had in 3d'max. Is that normal? And is there possibility to move or rotate the pivot of an object in GE - just like in 3d max "Effect pivot only"?

I know this is an old post, but I was having the same problem and thought I'd provide the answer for anyone else that needed help. You have to go to the utility tab and "reset Xform" to lock the pivot point. Be sure to apply i3d properties before reset Xform if you wish to do so. It will throw an error if you try to apply i3d after reset Xform.
