Im using Blender 2.70 and exporter version 5.5.1 beta and when exporting to i3d UV maps get messed up. Old exporter worked just fine. Now I got this:

The thing I need to do now to have UV as it should be is to first export to OBJ and then import it and export to I3D.

And another thing is shading and light settings. Its very hard to catch corrects light settings in Blender to look the same or at least similar in GE.

And another thing. Smooth shading is always on, even if I choose flat shading in i3D its still smooth.

You have your uvs messed up in blender and thats why the can shows like that.

To solve the smooth shading always on, apply an edge split modifier.

How do I apply this edge split modifier? ^ I am having the same problem with smooth shading always on.

EDIT: I found the modifier, but it STILL is applying smooth shading to the object.

Very frustrated with this new exporter!!!!

Try not applying it, just leave it but check the apply modifiers option and then export it.
Since you didnt knew how to apply the modifier im guessing you are not an experienced blender user and you need to understand that the exporter is still beta so some issues might occur.
The exporter works fine and its much more complete than the one for 2.62.
Hopefully Giants will release the final version of the exporter for FS15.

Well I've made some pretty successful mods with blender in the past, I just had a brain fart trying to find the modifiers.

I've used the solution that you gave me and had the same results.

Here's pics. The object seems to also completely ignore light and shadows.

It looks like the smooth shading issue is solved but maybe its because the object is not reflecting the light.
Try reseting the objects rotation to see if it solves the lighting issue, if it doesnt work you can send me the object and ill see what i can do to help you.
Im dreadlx in fs-uk if you dont want to post a link here.

Well that object in question was resolved because I just downgraded back to 2.62 and the old exporter. That was just the ones I had pictures of. Most of my current models aren't really ready to be exporter, but when I run tests they do the same thing, so I just wanted to take care of this before I got too deep into them and find out I have rebuild the thing in an older version.

Sivy and I are supposed to try and get on TS tonight to see what the deal is with this issue.

Hi
I have installed the newest Blender Exporter Plugins v6.0.2 but Blender say it is version 5.5.0 is that right or is something going wrong. Another Problem is that I think that the Exporter doesn't work right because the setting of specular doesn't not be exported so I have to edit the path of the texture and the settings of specular in notepad++. There is a problem with the texture too. When I mark the faces of an Object and Unwrap it the texture is OK in Blender but in GE it is different here it is strecht how can I get the preview in Blender so I can export it right.
