((After a few hours and some conversations, I have it sorted)) Hello all, I've just started attempting some modding for Farmer-Simulator 09, and I've run into a bit of a problem concerning Giants Editor. To start off slowly, I've been creating warning signs that can be added to existing tractors via Giants Editor, here is a Blender render of one of my signs: http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/2817/blenderrender01.jpg To create that I first modelled and textured in SketchUp. I then exported it as a .3ds file, and imported it into Blender. All is well at this stage. Then I exported it using the Blender .i3d exporter from the downloads section. It exports OK with no errors. But when I come to open the .i3d file I created, a problem arises. First, here is the text that appears in the "scripting" window of Giants Editor: Physics Driver: NVIDIA PhysX Runtime Version: 2.8.1 Sound Driver: OpenAL Software OpenGL Rendersystem Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Renderer: GeForce GTX 260/PCI/SSE2 Version: 3.0.0 GL_ATI_fragment_shader not supported max_texture_layers: 8 OpenGL initialization successful GPU profile: High View Distance Coeff: 1.5 Shadow Quality: 1 Skip Mipmaps: 0 Terrain LOD Distance Coeff: 1.5 Error: Texture, invalid number of channels (C:/Users/*******/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2009/Workarea/Wide Load Sign/assets\Wide_Loa.jpg) Error: Can't load resource: C:/Users/*******/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2009/Workarea/Wide Load Sign/assets\Wide_Loa.jpg Error: Texture, invalid number of channels (C:/Users/*******/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2009/Workarea/Wide Load Sign/assets\MetalTex.jpg) Error: Can't load resource: C:/Users/*******/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2009/Workarea/Wide Load Sign/assets\MetalTex.jpg Scenefile C:\Users\*******\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2009\Workarea\Wide Load Sign\WideLoadSign.i3d loaded in 32.404 ms Check for updates (http://gdn.giants.ch) And this is how the model looks in Giants Editor: http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8795/notextureingiants.jpg And as you can see, the model is quite horrible, and useless, without the textures. I would love to get this fixed, as I am only just this step away from finally being able to get into the modding world for FS09, even though I'm at an extremely basic level right now, I hope to improve over time. Thank you for reading, and I hope you can help. |

Hi Tom, Maybe your jpg texture files are broken or have the wrong format. Try to convert them to pngs. |
