Hi Claudio,

The Sample Tutorials (eg. SampleOverlay of Tutorial 6) are part of the GIANTS Engine SDK that can be purchased here: http://gdn.giants-software.com/license.php

Cheers

And how much will it cost us to get hold of those samples Christian, 120 pounds plus, they should be included with the game disc not purchased along with the game engine. How are people to learn how to mod your program if it is going to cost in excess of 100 pounds just to get hold of samples.

I am not trying to be funny or insulting here but it is asking a bit much mate.

Hi James,

All the mods out there show that you don't need the GIANTS Engine SDK to create good mods. The GIANTS Engine SDK is for people and teams that want to create new games.

Cheers,
Chris

Ok I understand that but that does not help people like me who are just starting out on the long road that is Modding Avenue. I have created a model that has animation in it and cannot get it to activate in the game although it does seem to work in the editor using the animation tool,I have asked in every possible forum and get the same answer "Use an onCreate attribute" but there are no tutorials that show how to do this. I have also been told that I might ned to bind it to an LUA script, now I do not mind having to learn LUA if that is the case but I cannot get a clear answer to the question, how exactly do I get an animation to work in the FS11 game.

Please do not take my comments above as critisism it was not meant to be, if it was taken that way I apologise unequivically. FS11 is a brilliant game and was well worth the purchase but without modders it will simply be just another game so please help me get around this problem and get on with creating more mods for the game.

Thanks Christian in advance.

James.

I am in the same situation. Trying to create a trigger for the first time and not sure how to go about it. If there is some type of example other than what is on this site, please point me to it.

Thanks,
Terry

Same problem here, asked countless times, but it's like some big secret, i'm an advanced modeller/ texturer/ animator, and have just learned the basics of LUA scripting, but i don't have a clue of how to get the engine to execute my custom LUA script, and how that relates to onCreate function, and how that relates to the XML file with my index and animclip info in.

This compares to me giving you a game of monopoly with no instructions, you then go away and learn elsewhere how to play the game Monopoly, you come back and realise you haven't been told how to open the box and set up the board.... so everything you just learned was pointless.

I'm sick to death of trying, and asking and getting nowhere

Two years later... FS15... the situation is still the same :-)

Hi,

nope.

The script documentation for FS13 is online and the documentation for FS15 will be online in just a few weeks (before end of april)

Cheers,
Emil
