| I changed some thins on map01(GoldCreast valley) in the giants editor. I later wanted to share the map with my friend but his game only crashes when he tries to load in to the map. From what i understood after some googleing was that i have to export it as a mod-map. While trying to follow the modding-for-dummies pdf that came with the game i encounterd a problem. In one of the steps it tells me to extract the modmapsdk.zip but in FS17 there is no such file. Can someone point me in the right direction or link me to an updated turorial on map modding in fs17. |

| PDF tutorial,or modding for dummies,are writen for FS 15,this is the main reason you are so confused,in FS 17 they are no zip modmapsdk,just two sets of files,or mod desc. First for Goldcrest Valley map and second is for Sosnovka map. In generally moding with new giants editor 7 was changed. Now about your problems,listen it is very hard to coprehend what sorts of problems you encountered,they are hundreds posible reasons why this exported map is crashing on your friend´s PC,it can be just simple error in moddesc,or maybe you deleted something you shouldn´t have. Ask your friend to post his log here,maybe we will find source of the problem. |

| Did you zip it correctly? I've seen where some zip programs, Winrar, and SevenZip, specifically, can add a folder to the directory if not careful. In other words it ends up like mapName/mapName/ map files instead of mapName/ map files. I usually open the folder, Ctrl A, rt click, zip contents, and it let it create the folder and zip it. Just a thought because it's happened to me more times than once. |

| If you dont play in multiplayer it is far better to play just from no zipped folder,they are big advantage on this,map would load much faster,and if you are working on new map it is to boring to zip the map every time you are going in the game to test it. |
