| Hello. How can i save weightmaps png in 8bit single channel? I was trying gimp and paint.net, but every time i get errors in editor not matter what settings i use when i save png file. Google translate, sorry. |

| Did you try to save in ge and re open. When recreating a png from a gdm file it will give u the 8 bit error the first time you open the map. Usually after saving the map and reopening ge will have saved it correctly. Always back your map up first JUST IN CASE. |

| Now I am a bit more interested in this as well. I would like to draw roads in paint.net and then save in the correct format. I had little success in gimp however the controls are a bit odd to me since ive used paint.net so much. So I have the same question. How can I save a file to the correct png format? |

| My way around the error was just to save the map, and the re open it. Now the error is gone and the file was converted by GE. |

| Correct however in that thread I explained how I figured out that you can actually draw terrain in a paint program and then save it in the correct format so that GE leaves it the way it is. I was able to take an image from google maps, paste as a layer, trace the roads into the concrete weight, remove the layer, save the file, then when I opened the map in GE all the roads were drawn. I find it much easier to draw lines in a pain program rather than use GE. Just my opinion. I was able to outline my fields this way as well. |

| i have a 8bit error on my GE i was trying to resize my map (please note this is my fist time doing this) with the texture weights i tried to restart it after i saved but it didn't work if anyone could please help it would be much appreciated thanks |
