Hi. I have a problem with normalmap of acre texture - original texture in game seems like it was tesselated and I can see bumps but when I made my own texture of it then it's flat, also it looks wierd from close distance (also my objects have the same problem with normalmaps - looks wierd from close distance). Does someone of devs knows how to make properly normalmap for ground textures? Mine is just rendered normal from BLENDER and exported to DDS(DTX5) This is how it looks: https://i.imgur.com/n2sdY0Z.mp4 |

At first look into console output or the editor log. Eliminate all errors and warnings. The screenshot above contains already some: - wrong file format: convert all PNG to DDS, delete or move the old PNG. - wrong size: the height and length must be equal to 2^n (eg. 256, 512, 1024, etc). Note also, the normal (bump) map should be in DDS DXT1 - others can lead to wrong display. In doubt compare your textures with the originals from game. |

I found out how to do that... If you do texture in 3d program and you have displaced object you have to render displacement map of it and then apply it for normalmap - just make a mask in gimp/ps and apply that map for normalmap ;) |
