I'm playing around with the new 19 mods that have been released but I'm having trouble getting them to load within the editor. Everyone that I open that has reference points is throwing errors. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'd rather not hardcode the reference paths by removing the $data and copying these files into each mod I look at.

Error: Can't load resource 'C:/FarmSim19Mods/FS19_mahindraRetriever/shared/numbers_diffuse.dds'.
Error: Failed to open xml file 'C:/FarmSim19Mods/FS19_mahindraRetriever/$data/shaders/dashboardLightsShader.xml'.
Error: Can't load resource 'C:/FarmSim19Mods/FS19_mahindraRetriever/$data/shared/default_specular.png'.

Sorry for poor post title. I meant to change that before posting.

Probably you didn't install the game and/or editor with admin rights (missing registry entries).

In GE select Files -> Preferences -> General and register the game install path.

If this doesn't work, then re-install game and editor with full admin. rights (right click on setup -> run as administrator)

Thanks for clarifying it, but i've tried that as a steam user, no luck, also my has the box gold edition, and Giant's included the very same documentation and video and GE 7.1.0 64Bit we've used for FS17.
Also i've tried to register the installation path for FS19 and no luck, i couldn't open FS19 mods with 7.1.0 also if i saved an FS17 mod with the above settings, yet it not appear in FS19 as a mod.

To edit FS19 stuff you need necessarily the GE8.
The GE7 cannot handle the FS19 objects, since there were massive changes since FS17.

ANy idea with GE8 is going to be posted so we can start doing stuff?

No - and if one would ask Giants, they'd say probably "ASAP" (as soon as possible) *g*
However it is released already on the FS19 DVD version. But seems still an early developer version with limited functionality.
An 'official' release here will take a while.

Anyway the GE 8.0.0 has already found its way to several download sites. Might be more or less 'illegal'.
Be very careful if you dl from these sources, may contain malware. Use only very trustworthy sources and double-check with anti-malware scanners.

Hi Guys

I downloaded GIANTS Software 8.1 beta from this site and it does not want to work. How do I get it to work so I can do some modding on maps?

Thanks
Johan

See GE log for further info (USER\AppData\Local\GIANTS Editor 64bit 8.0.0\editor_log.txt).
Most common reason: your gfx doesn't support OpenGL 4.5.
Perhaps your gfx driver can be updated. Else you need a better GPU.

Shader Model 5.0 is for DirectX.
However the HD6000 Series support OpenGL merely upto Vs. 4.4.
