Hello, I am modifying an existing map in the giants editor but when I go to export all files the editor gives me a ton of errors stating that its unable to save the files located in the steam common folder. Because of this I am unable to test the map. The map works fine in the editor and has taken all of my modifications. I am running editor version 8.1.0. If anyone has a workaround or fix I would really appreciate it. Thank you!! |

Probably caused by Windows UAC/DEP (missing rights). Start the GE with "run as administrator". Better you export to a neutral folder, not supervised by Win UAC. Also folders on desktop (often recommanded) are a bad idea. |

Create a folder on any local drive, eg. "D:\FS19_mods" and export to this place. To get the mods into game edit the "gameSettings.xml" <modsDirectoryOverride active="true" directory="D:/FS19_Mods"/> |

Hi again, so I am able to export all of the files now doing what you suggested, however when I am trying to test the mod, FS19 is still not seeing it. |

Double-check the "gameSettings.xml" (in user folder) that you have edited properly the above entry and 'directory' points EXACTLY to the folder with your mods. Check also the game log for errors/warnings. |

Hello, The advice you game me has fixed everything, but I now have a new one. The map I made crashes the game now. Error log is below. **Edit** I loaded the original map before my edits and the sound errors exist in that log also. I see no other errors with the map. The two "Error: Can't load .." are caused by wrong filename. Edit the i3d (text) and exchange for the file "cricket1.wav" the path "data/.." <=> "$data/.." The crash on map is probably caused by missing waterplane. Add one to your map. It should have the user attribute (bool)isMainWater=true. Maybe import the waterplane from another map. If it's for dummy only, you may hide it under your map. |
