Hi,

just a simple question. Trying to convert a mapUS into an empty mapDE with multifruit. Seems not working. So is there any difference between the maps ?

Yes - there are differences. Compare section <TerrainTransformGroup> the layers.

Is it possible to convert one map to the other? I am currently working on a blank DE map that I downloaded and would like to convert it to US if possible (I am not too far into making my map, but still far enough that I don't want to start all over from scratch either). I already tried by replacing all the "mapDE_" XML files with the "mapUS_" XML files and changing the paths in the mapDE.xml file but it still didn't work so I must be missing something somewhere or it's just not possible.

If it's possible to convert from DE to US (and vice versa), what are the steps? What are all the files that need to be included and what needs to be changed in the .xml file?

Simplified said, you must compare step-for-step mapUS/DE i3d and xml where the differences occur.
The main work is editing the i3d in a text editor, so you must have very good experience in mapping.
Add missing ground textures and perhaps other stuff.
There is no automatic conversion, so you must re-paint manually some ground textures. It should be possible to overwork the main terrain layer in a good paint program by replacing certain colorcodes by others.

If you are a beginner in modding/mapping, better forget it.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Looks like I better just stick with the map I have and not try to convert it. :)

Yes, the Felsbrunn is an okay map, Ravenport is pure junk by design, and does not represent farming in the US!
