How can I change the trains speed on a new mod map

Copy the locomotive.xml into your map folder and change there maxForwardSpeed="80" to desired value. Maybe you have to adapt also the 'minForwardGearRatio'. For more speed you must decrease the value.
In the map's trainSystem.xml you change the xmlFilename="$data/vehicles/train/locomotive.." so it points to your mod'ed locomotive.
