| Hey Bilbo (i just know you are going to be the first one to probably comment lol) hopefully you got a couple minutes for me to pick your brain again. im making a custom hemp crop to incorporate into my mod map, and i downloaded a pre-existing hemp crop template so i can have a generalized layout, but i didnt like the textures so i made my own. here is the picture of whats happening: https://paste.pics/08fc802d72a038a4de1f9cf993bfc678 i cant seem to figure it out. its saved as a ".dds", and i double checked that there was nothing behind the crop textures (invisible/deleted texture), but it seems as though GE is still registering it as a black background behind it. any tips would be helpful. thanks, Mike |

| could it be the fact that the crop mod has shaders that are included with it? by some of the stuff im getting an inclination that the mod was from fs17, which i can understand how those shaders would definitely be interfering then. |

| Yes, could be a shader issue. But at first check your textures for right format and compression. The foliage diffuse must be DXT5, the normal and specular DXT1. Also look into GE and game logfiles for warnings/errors. |

| thanks for the heads up on the DXT5/DXT1 variations. i would have pulled my hair out trying to figure that out. i kind of figured it had something to do with the file format but i wouldnt have even known where to begin. im currently having some other issues, primarily with the tip on ground stuff now that i got it in my map. ill make a new thread so threads can stay on topic. thank you again man. (also, 32 bit compression, right?) Edit: the DXT5 format was indeed required and it fixed the issue with diffuse textures. |
