Hi again.. Okay so I manage to add the ducks and everything went fine, it`s working nice, thanks to Bilbo.

but still a little problem. I also wanted calfs to my map and set up all the xml`s correct, this is also a placeable.
I started the game (uzipped folder) and it loaded fine. everything is working fine, but! I can`t go into the shop`s animals pens placeables anymore.
When I dubble click with mouse on it, I can hear the "click" sound but nothing happens. The game is running fine, no hangups.
The game log shows no error at all

I also tried with a zipped map.

can anyone help?

Ps. Where can I find information on the several meanings in the xml fiels.. example: $moddir$ , what does everything means.
I`m strugle a little with these things.

Thank you.

Hi again. I got it to work finally. I forgot one file that i did not think of.

Mind that $moddir$ it's the old path for everything inside your mod folder, $mapdir$ it's the correct one, but problably you've alredy got it :D

Hi illgib81, Actually no I did not, That was one of the few things I was thinking of. I was investigating some maps and many of them had both of those names. $moddir$ I did know what was but the other one not so much. so thank you wherry much for telling me :)

it is hard to find information on those different names in xml files, it would be nice to study it,

$mapdir$ points to the root folder of the current used map (where the modDesc is located).
$moddir$MAPNAME is obsolete, you shouldn't use it anymore since it requires the exact MAPNAME. Many users tend to rename the map and so the paths become invalid.
Also, by using $mapdir$ files are portable to another map without changes.

Hi Bilbo. Okay. it`s nice to finally understand the different of them. I will only use $mapdir$ from now on.

Do you know where i can read about this stuff ?. it`s allot in a xml that I don`t understand so much. I have bean trying to find on net but it`s hard to find.

What does this sign mean? ../ Example: ../Foliage and so on.

Another thing I have come across is this. $dataS I was about to get some files from that dir. $dataS/menu and so on. but what I found was a file called dataS.gar, there was no folder. So I guess they have some how compressed it or something. Can you in short term explain what this file actually is ?

Thank you

I'd urgently recommand you improve your basic OS knowledge. Else you'll never succeed in modding.
The expression ".." is used in nearly all OS to get the parent directory.

The files "dataS.gar" and "dataS2.gar" are compressed archives, similar to zip files, however in a Giants proprietary format.

Okay. Thank you for helping Bilbo, I`m working on it :) I am reading about it right now. it was like I thought, it is compressed.
