Hi can some one help me figure this out. My mod slides from side to side in a very odd way when its steered.

On first overview, <components> <joint> looks strange.
The 'component1' should be really the main <component>, since most calculations refer to this.
Also compare the xml attributes with a similar default model.

Furtheron check the wheels for accordance of 'radius' and real i3d diameter (wheel collision).

There are some errors (missing spaces) before 'maxDeformation'.

There is nothing to calculate, you have to measure it. No idea?
Create a transform with a sub-transform. Zoom in to get the wheel in max. size. Move the created transform (gizmo) to one side, then the sub-transform to other side. The translation of sub-transform gives you the exact diameter. You remember from school, the radius is half of diameter?
Be sure to measure the rigid body (collision), the painted mesh might be slightly different.

Also check the wheels' scaling, it should be 1,1,1 (not scaled).

I have no immediate idea what is wrong there without seeing the i3d. But I strongly suspect it has to do with the <component> attributes. I had trouble with this also several times. So far I can only advise to compare these attributes with a similar standard vehicle. May be that values are wrong or certain attributes are missing.
If the components are too close together, collisions might overlay and it's needed to disable collision pairs between moving components, eg. <collisionPair component1="1" component2="2" enabled="false" />

It could also be helpful to watch the vehicle in the several debug modes. Might be there's a mistake in the i3d like wrong collision(s).

1. Check the <ackermannSteering> for proper setup of rotCenterWheel1|2. You'll find further hints by searching for "fs19 ackermannSteering".

2. The <differentialConfiguration> is incomplete. See default vehicles.

No. And at this point one cannot say anymore by merely looking at the xml. There are no obvious xml mistakes, so it must be deeper. Perhaps wrong i3d nodes or a general i3d structure or properties issue.

My advice: leave the project for now and then continue when you have gained more knowledge and experience.

could you give me some pointers on the i3d?

I rebuilt the whole front end and that did not seem to fix the problem, (the wheels were within like 10 transform groups)

Best bet is rebuilding/rearranging the i3d exactly like default vehicles.

hmm Im gonna have to think about that I've done a lot to this mod and I don't really wanna start from scratch any other ideas?

wheel pivot flipped maybe
that sets orientation
try rotating on Y 180
