Mowers don't work

I'm working on a mod map, based on farmer bobs template 4x map. None of the mowers work, and i can't figure out where else to look for a solution.

The crops work and the harvesters can collect them. Forage harvesters can collect grass, alfalfa and clover, using the cutter (i think its the "direct cutter"?). Wheels destroy/remove 1 stage of the grass.

What i know/have checked - I do own the land, i use no mods during testing (i did test a mod-mower). I can paint grass/meadow/deco in GE but none can be mown. (the decoBushes etc are marked as mowable, but still wont work).
Files - i have tried various grass-packs from different donor-maps, wont make a difference. i have gone through all i3d/xml files i could find looking for any mention of grass or mowing, double checked the file addresses. i gone through a donor map (that was verified as working with the mowers..) and compared/copied all i could find regarding grass/mowing (basically the map.i3d, map.xml, the effects folder, all other xmls i could fint, the grass i3d/xml, etc).

So basically, seem to be specifically related to the mowers, not the grass (since it can be cut w the forage harvester).
Any pointers? I spent days going thru the files/searching for solutions..

Fixed lol...
My terrain was raised 0.5m (because annoying red flickering otherwise, what's that?!..), and the fields TG was raised 1m (unsure why..).

I'll keep the post if anyone else has problems, but please remove if it shouldn't stay. I noticed that no fieldwork was working, plowing, cultivating, mowing. Interestingly enough havesting crops worked. But one avenue of analysis -> check y-axis elevations! ^_^
