Hi,
I'am using a value of 1500 for the heightScale of my map, but part of the terrain (parts with high height) is not rendered, depending on camera height postion and orientation (in the GE editor and in FS15).

The problem could be reproduced using the FS modMapSDK, with only modifying the heightScale to 1024 in the map i3D file.

It was OK with the first versions of FS2013, I think the problem appears since version 2.0 of FS2013, and still present in FS15.

Is there other parameters to change ? (I try to change several parameters around camera and terrain but without success)
Is there a limit value (255 ?) for the heightScale on last versions of the game engine ?
Is it a bug which could be corrected in the future ?

Thanks
Guillaume

Hi,

a short test seemed to work for me.
I set the heightScale in the map01.i3d to "1024" and opened the map in the GE.
The terrain looked fine ... no clipping at all.

Please give it a try by using a clean export of the default map.
Maybe changes you did to the map or its 'terrain files' are blocking the ability to scale the height of the terrain.

Cheers,
Emil

Hi,

I tried again from scratch but I still have the same problem, see below the operations I made:
- Unzip FarmingSimulator15ModMapSDK.zip file
- Open "data\maps\map01.i3d" from FS15 game directory with GE 6.0.3
- "Export all with files" to the "FarmingSimulator15ModMapSDK\map" directory
- Edit the "FarmingSimulator15ModMapSDK\map\map01.i3d" file and set "heightScale" to 1024
- Open FarmingSimulator15ModMapSDK\map\map01.i3d in GE 6.0.3
- Set the camera at the following position and orientation:
TX=340
TY=655
TZ=55
RX=0
RY=180
RZ=0

At this position, it's ok, but if you set RX=10, part of the terrain disappears.
I have put 2 Giant Editor screenshots on my Steam account, one with camera RX=0 and another one with camera RX=10 :

Thanks

Hi,

ok, I can confirm this issue now.
Thanks for the very detailed error report.

I'll discuss this issue with the colleagues, but I can't promise anything ;)

Cheers,
Emil
