Hi.

I have converted many FS 2013 Maps to FS 15 but the one I made won't open in GE 6.0.3 and I don't know why. I've tried deleting some objects in the map that might cause GE to crash, but nothing seems to work. I started making the map in 2013 with the GE that came with the game and kept working on the map as different versions came out. Could that be the cause of the map not opening in 6.0.3?

I would like to know if I could fix this issue and get it to open so then I can convert it to 2015 because I put a lot of hard work and time into the map in 2013.

Note: GIANTS Editor Log doesn't show any errors.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

to be able to load a map in FS15 it must be loadable with the latest GE.

If you want to convert a map from FS13 to FS15 you have to change a lot ...
e.g. the shaders

To get an 'old' map running in FS15 I would recommend you to not start with the old map and edit it.
Instead use the "Export all with files" Option in the GE to export a default map to a mod directory.
(Also use the modMapSDK!)

Afterwards you can start to copy stuff from your old map to your new mod map.
- density files, height map etc
- buildings
- ...

Cheers
Emil

hi Emil
I was trying a map from fs13 to fs15 also tried the export all with files with the fs13 but it crashes on me and doesn't save at all. I tried changing the moddesc version and tried but did same thing crash. then tried to open it in fs15 but got grey screen and along list of out of date shaders .

Hi,

as written above, the best way to get thi stask done is probably by first creating a mod map out of a default FS 15 map.

Afterwards replace step by step everything in the map.
First the terrain data, than the field data .... in the end you can replace the buildings ...

Cheers,
Emil
