|I have come across a major bug within GE, this is my second bug report on GE and the last one was not answered, lets hope this one is......
I am creating a map and when I save the progress and then reload the map to show the changes ( especially the terrain paint mode so that it shows the changes instead of just the distance textures) after a while the map reloads but the editor still shows 'Loading' at the bottom of the screen and the changes are not updated, if you then repeat the steps i.e. save the game and reload it (and it actually does reload the map, sometimes it doesn't) it then copies the foliage layers again so that in effect you have 2 of everything and the textures within the game are corrupted and the harvesters do not harvest the crops. Opening the map in Notepad++ and deleting the 'extra' foliage layers does not always sort this problem out. This has happened a few times to me and I have just realized that this is the problem. Luckily I have backups of my map so I can at least go back a couple of days and not restart the whole map again.
This is a major problem that needs to be sorted.

|This bug is still persisting in my map making and Giants do not seem to either care or have a solution, just rake in the money lads and just answer the easy questions, leave the game killers to your customers to fathom out.

can you please give us a detailed list of steps to reproduce the misbehavor?
Does the problem only occur with your mod map or also when you edit (paint) a default map?
I'm not completly sure what's the actual problem ;)

|I am not particularly sure myself BUT I am sure it occurs when the editor 'hangs' by this I mean when you have edited something and want to check it, you restart the editor by using the "reload i3d file" button and occasionally this hangs and after reloading does not show the changes and continues to say "Loading" at the bottom of the editor. When you close the editor and start it again from scratch (sometimes and only sometimes) it duplicates the foliage layers. This happens I think when you have used the 'reload i3d file' button a few times in a short period, say if you have edited the terrain and want to update the view and do it maybe 3 or 4 times in the space of a few minutes, I think that is when the error occurs.
Hope this helps as it is getting to be a pain having to delete the extra foliage layers every time it happens.

|i had a look at this topic yesterday, and using much Giant Editor for maps i never got that problem, but today seeing about " hanging " i' m thinking one thing:
i always keep a lower position a " script windows " to look at what is happening in GE,or what GE is doing ie loading, saving ect and i didn't got the same problem as James.
when GE is " hanging " means for me GE is doing something ie saving your map and if you try to reload the map without saving or before your map save is not finished you can have this problem

|The map usually takes about 2 minutes to reload, I sometimes get the "loading" message for 10 minutes or more before I close and reload the map normally, so it is NOT just doing something else, I also keep the scripting window open at the bottom and get nothing in there when it hangs.
