Hi all, I just downloaded the editor because I had a few ideas for vehicles to make for FS17 so I can convert them and then put them on my xbox, as well as make them available to everyone (of course!). Anyway, I'm trying to start using the keyboard short cuts and I cant make the program do anything at all. I've watched some of the video tutorials, but still no luck. Can someone give me a plain English crash course on how to make this work, or should I just try to team up with an established developer to bring my ideas to life? Thanks for reading.

Howdy Bryan, good luck.

Anyhow a quick crash course ... first thing to remember it's awkward, and like trying to tie your shoes with your ear. In the latest new version, 7.0.2 (I hope you have this one) you can move around using W, A, S, and D while holding down on the RMB, and limited to viewing only. If in terrain, texture, or folage editor, you have to press and hold the ALT key using your mouse. Alt+ LMB = swing around (rotate on Y axis) RMB = zoom in, zoom out, and MMB = I don't remember th eterm right off but it kind of drags your view, try it. To look at something like an object, like a house, or tractor, put camera view in frame rotate mode, and you orbit around the object, else turn it off. Play with tah awhile, and redo the tutorials 20 times, and you get kind of familiar with it.

Ok, so to look at things, I need to make something first. In order to do that, do I need to have FS on my computer as well? I only have it on xbox, but as I said, I have a couple vehicle ideas I want to try to make, but first I obviously need to learn how to use the editor. I think the reason I couldn't get things to happen was the thing about the alt key. Thanks for that tip. All help is appreciated while I'm new and learning.

If you want to edit game files, play with the mods, making maps and such,i suggest to get yourself PC copy of the game, you can get it on steam, and it pays off really, this is really a fantastic game, escpecially for people who like to make stuff and playing with they own creation.
