Hi everyone, I'm trying to place objects that can be positioned as default items from one map to another, I started importing them into the new map in giants editor to place them, but having put them under a transform group to move them now I can't find the way to know the coordinates of the single object. Does anyone know if there is a way or what calculations need to be made?
Thanks

After export you should 'freeze' the translations of main TG to (0,0,0).
So it's easier to place in another map and you have immediately the translation values for the items.xml.

I think I didn't understand, I take them from the map, I export them and put them in a transform group and use freeze transform. Then I import the tg in the new map, but moving them I don't have the coordinates of the single objects, and using those of the main tg I'm not in the right position in the game

I have supposed you already moved the object to virtual ground (eg. editor grid).
Certainly it's useless to freeze if the object is still far above or under the surface.

yes, the objects are all at the height of the grid

And? Where is the problem?
The adjusted object.i3d you import into your map. Don't save the map - it's only for proper placement. Memorize the placement coordinates and transfer them into the items.xml.

the problem is that the objects in the other map were already positioned and had certain coordinates that remained, so putting them in a tg gives me only the coordinates based on the center of the tg, but being single objects are not in a single i3d file with relative xml and therefore I don't know how to put them in the defaultItems file

I also know some maps which don't follow any guidelines and have really 'wild' placements.
Best bet in this case is re-arranging the object TGs in a new i3d.
