Sorry for the ask but really struggling to find answers. I am new to the editing of maps and have only managed small edits to make maps more playable for myself. What I can't do is get any objects like gates, switches, lights to show up in the editor. So If I remove a building for example making sure to select the whole package, when I load the game up switches or lights for example will be floating where the building was. The other problem is navigation meshes. I've watched videos on how to edit them but mine simply do not show. I hope someone can help as I really enjoy the map editing. Cheers....

Objects which you don't see in the map (but later in game) are inserted by the defaultItems.
The exact filename you find in the map's modDesc.xml <map ... defaultItemsXMLFilename=

Thanks for the response. I found I think what you are saying which would be defaultItemsXMLFilename="maps/modMap_items.xml"> So is it possible to see these in the editor so they can be removed ?

If these items don't appear in the map, you can only see them by manually importing the i3d's from defaultItems.

For editing you must overwork the defaultItems.xml.
