I know it imports it to the map when you import it. I never choose reference I pick Import Object. I know the texture folders need to say, but can I remove the Objects from the Map Folder to reduce size? I noticed before Importing the size was les say 543MB, and the object is 3.45MB and after importing it the map folder size increased by that amount, or from what I can tell it did.

Are you talking about objects on a new map, or do you mean when you import an object do you need to keep the i3d and shapefile? Remove them and test it, you'll get your answer :)

i3d and shapes are not needed.

@Jānis Strautiņš (strauts6) Thanks for the reply, have a great night.

Well jokes aside, I've had some major setbacks and I don't want to push my luck with this editor. Better safe than sorry.

@Gregg: All in good fun. It's also worth noting that there is no harm in removing most objects from the map. If you don't get the desired results, just put it back and everything will be right with the world again. Check your log often and make regular backups.

@Ed Propsner (crotchfrog) Yeah lol, I've been using the logs to fix errors, only ones I don't understand are these.
They have been an isse since I got it, all three blank maps are like this. I'm too far into making it to start over.

Error 1: (Yellow)
Warning (performance): Foliage lod 1 mesh 'meadow' 'cut' 'cut' is much larger than lod 0 mesh (min/maxY (-0.175/0.082 vs -0.125/0.103).
Error: Blocked area map is wrong size for terrain (4096 x 4096) vs (2048 x 2048)

Error 2: (Yellow)
Warning: Farmland-Ids not set for all pixel in farmland-infoLayer! Skipping farmland definition!
Error: Farmland-Id 4 not defined in farmland ownage file ''Documents/NewMap16X/maps/data/infoLayer_farmlands.grle'. Skipping farmland definition!definition!
Error: Farmland-Id 5 not defined in farmland ownage file ''Documents/NewMap16X/maps/data/infoLayer_farmlands.grle'. Skipping farmland definition!
Error: Farmland-Id 13 not defined in farmland ownage file ''Documents/NewMap16X/maps/data/infoLayer_farmlands.grle'. Skipping farmland definition!
Error: Trying to open empty xml file 'Documents/NewMap16X/maps/helpLine.xml'.
2022-01-05 08:31 Error: Running LUA method 'update'.

I tried opening the infoLayer_farmlands.grle in Notepad++ but it's not a normal file so I'm not sure wat to do with it.
I did the Info Layer painting for each one.

Miscellaneous Error: (Red)
Warning: 'CUSTOMS' is an unknown brand! Using Lizard instead!
Warning: 'CUSTOMSHOP' is an unknown category type! ''Documents/NewMap16X/maps/scripts/AddStoreCategory.lua"
Error: Running LUA method

#1 Foliage lod: sounds like one of your infolayer or density maps is the wrong size. 4096 and it should be 2048. I'm not sure which one off the top of my head. There are lists floating around that state which files should be which size. They are not difficult to change.

#2 Not all of your farmlands are accounted for. Once you paint all of your farmlands in and list them in the farmlands.xml, that error will go away. When painting the farmlands in, be careful not to miss even on single pixel or you will still get that error. Every single pixel on the map must be colored.

You don't do anything with farmlands.grle, it's keeping track of the painted farmlands on your map. You missed a spot somewhere. Even the areas that are not sellable farmland must be colored in. Remember ... every single pixel, a single missed pixel will trigger that error.

The last one is one of your placeables. Find out which one has "CUSTOMS" listed as the brand in the xml and change it to NONE or LIZARD and that will also go away.

Hope that helps

@Ed Propsner (crotchfrog) Ok thank you, I was confused about the grl thing. I only left the roads unpained in the info painter. So I will have to figure out how to not let it be bought. I watched some FS19 videos, and he said info layer 68 is the non buyable layer, but mine only has 48 lol.

Ed Propsner (crotchfrog) 05.01.2022 22:55
I think it's the same for FS22 but not entirely sure, I haven't looked into that yet. Even though your fields go up to 48 you should still be able to assign 68 to non-purchasable lands.

Ignore this one, its from base game.

Might be infoLayer_navigationCollision.grle

Warning: Farmland-Ids not set for all pixel in farmland-infoLayer! Skipping farmland definition!
A pixel in farmland infolayer painting mode has not been painted with farmland. When painting farmlands never use RMB, only paint over.

Error: Farmland-Id 4 not defined in farmland ownage file ''Documents/NewMap16X/maps/data/infoLayer_farmlands.grle'. Skipping farmland definition!definition!
Sounds like you have farmland id-4 defined in xml file, but not painted in editor.

And there is 63 farmland by default, 63 being non buy-able and doesnt need to be defined in farmlands.xml
