Hello, i would like a little character animation with ik/joints. in maya works the animation, but not at the editor and the object has: 'skinBindNodeIds=" "'. I have 5 joints. If i entry the jointid's manually: 'skinBindNodeIds="2 3 4 5 6"' then the object is invisible and dont follow the joints. |

Hi Christoph, The i3d maya exporter can't export a skinned animated character if the skinned mesh is above the bones in the outliner of Maya. Just move the skinned mesh below the bones in the outliner (middle mouse button) and it should work fine. Cheers |

it works fine, but the exported mesh is invisible like 'Non Renderable' and don't move. the joints move itself. i bind skin with smooth bind, because with rigid bind isn't 'skinBindNodeIds' in the i3d and the mesh is visible. edit:// now the character on the testfile: 'character_animation_test.i3d' is invisible too. i think the problem caused by the graphics driver. |

I used the v4.1.2. now the problem caused by my graphics card. at the other pc with windows vista and nvidia geforce 8500 the mesh is visible. i have windows xp and nvidia geforce gtx260 with driverversion: 190.30. |

phuu... i'm happy about this thread. I animate a cow for my mod, and allways have entert the skinBindNodeIds manually, my cow has at least 46 joints, i hope it wil go with this tip Thanks if it work! |

Hi Iv just tried this and it did not work for me. I created a model and used the hunanik for the bones, i animated it using the the clip method. I then made sure the mesh was below the bones in the outliner, but my export did not animate only the transform mesh moved. If you can help it would be realy great as i have a future project to animate a horse fore the game... Griffy |
